Below is the dining room in the BEFORE stage. Nothing really wrong with it. The curtains are floral, the plates were old ones, that I never really liked. The hutch was fine, but just not the look I wanted. The dining table and chairs were a dark stained wood. You might remember, I painted the table yellow a few months ago. I ended up not liking it because it blended into the yellow walls too much. So I painted it again. This time black.
Below is the AFTER, very hard to get pictures today...The walls are more yellow than they appear in the picture below. I replaced the old hutch (and sold it) with this hutch, that I previously had in my kitchen nook. It originally was dark stained wood. I painted it Apple A Day red. The curtains have been replaced with a red and yellow rooster toile. The same pattern can be seen on the chair cushions.
This Rooster and Roses Plate is going to be the center focal of a mosaic buffet I am going to do in this dining room.
The buffet that I am going to mosaic is in the picture below. I am painting it black and then doing mosaics on the top. I hope to do this within the next month. I will post pictures when it is done... The picture below also shows the oil painting we bought while in Venice, Italy.
Below is a close up of the new chair cushions in the La Petit Ferme toile pattern. The cushions were made for me by Shelley at Judd Home Decor. She also did some for my kitchen nook and you will see those in the next day or so. She does amazing work. Pillows, cushions, bedding and much more. Please visit her website if you are considering redecorating. We did this via email, long distance and everything turned out wonderful!

Close up of the sugar mold candles on the dining table.

Another water color purchased from the artist in Florence, Italy.

So there you are....one dining room refluffed, repainted and redecorated. Stay tuned. In the next day or so I will post the kitchen nook.

OH! Penny, I love your refluffed, repainted and redecorated dinning room. You did an amazing job. I don't know what I like the best. I think it might be the curtains and the chairs and the hutch. It just looks so pretty. I was on my way to bed and I though to myself OH I am going to look one more time to see if she posted her refluffed, repainted and redecorated dinning room. I am glad I did. The before, was nice but it did not say a talented artist's lives here. Now, your room has personality. Everything well thought out. I love the colors. The drapes are just gorgeous. I am going to visit the designer's web site during lunch.
