Repainted, Refluffed and Redecorated Dining Room

Here is the refluffed, repainted, redecorated Dining Room.

Well, it has taken a lot longer than I thought, but I am ALMOST done with the dining room and kitchen nook refluffing, repainting and redecorating. Today I am showing you the dining room. There is still a few more things I have to do, but I will explain those as I show you the pictures. Please click on any picture to enlarge for details.

Below is the dining room in the BEFORE stage. Nothing really wrong with it. The curtains are floral, the plates were old ones, that I never really liked. The hutch was fine, but just not the look I wanted. The dining table and chairs were a dark stained wood. You might remember, I painted the table yellow a few months ago. I ended up not liking it because it blended into the yellow walls too much. So I painted it again. This time black.

BEFORE

Below is the AFTER, very hard to get pictures today...The walls are more yellow than they appear in the picture below. I replaced the old hutch (and sold it) with this hutch, that I previously had in my kitchen nook. It originally was dark stained wood. I painted it Apple A Day red. The curtains have been replaced with a red and yellow rooster toile. The same pattern can be seen on the chair cushions.

AFTER

This Rooster and Roses Plate is going to be the center focal of a mosaic buffet I am going to do in this dining room.

The buffet that I am going to mosaic is in the picture below. I am painting it black and then doing mosaics on the top. I hope to do this within the next month. I will post pictures when it is done... The picture below also shows the oil painting we bought while in Venice, Italy.

Below is a close up of the new chair cushions in the La Petit Ferme toile pattern. The cushions were made for me by Shelley at Judd Home Decor. She also did some for my kitchen nook and you will see those in the next day or so. She does amazing work. Pillows, cushions, bedding and much more. Please visit her website if you are considering redecorating. We did this via email, long distance and everything turned out wonderful!

Inside view of the hutch below. You can see the fabric covered cardboard backing we installed, that I mentioned in a previous post. The fabric matches the sides of the chair cushions.

Close up of the sugar mold candles on the dining table.

Two water colors we purchased from a street side artist in Sienna Italy.

Another water color purchased from the artist in Florence, Italy.

In the corner below is a vintage bird cage stand. The bird cage is new and I placed an ivy plant inside. I hope that it will grow and curl around the cage.

Close up of the beautiful oil painting

Close up of the bird cage....

Close up of the Rooster on top of the hutch

So there you are....one dining room refluffed, repainted and redecorated. Stay tuned. In the next day or so I will post the kitchen nook.

OH! Penny, I love your refluffed, repainted and redecorated dinning room. You did an amazing job. I don't know what I like the best. I think it might be the curtains and the chairs and the hutch. It just looks so pretty. I was on my way to bed and I though to myself OH I am going to look one more time to see if she posted her refluffed, repainted and redecorated dinning room. I am glad I did. Thank-you so much for sharing. OH and I will be looking for more to come.
Did I mention that I love the bird cage also?
Take care,

Penny, Your room is beautiful. All the detail works wonderful together. You have a wonderful style of decorating that I love.. The painted cabinet is the best idea. You should send this to HGTV. Smile! The bird cage touch and the candles with just the right colors match your fabric. All I can add is, brilliant.

Oh, if I go back again, you can be sure I'll bring more of that home with me. That's my one regret, not buying some things while I was there years ago.

Oh, Penny I could move right in. I can only imagine how the mosaic server is going to look. The colors in this before and after are really the sign that you know what you are doing with interiors. The paintings from Italy are beautiful, and the hutch in red is striking. The accents in the room are perfect, this color scheme toile is so country french. I love how you gave a closeup of each accent too. What a beautiful room, now what's for dinner? Karen
