Comfort Foods

I am feeling sorry for myself.....I have a boo boo.

And when I feel sorry for myself I crave comfort food. Macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken noodle soup, chili - anything warm and old fashioned.

I woke up two days ago with a sore wrist. Thought I slept on it wrong. Well it has progressively gotten worse. So today I went to the doctors. Xrays were taken....no broken bones, thank goodness. So the possible diagnosis is tendonitis or imflamitory arthritis. I have to wear this splint for about a week and take pain meds. I am left handed and this is my left hand. No mosaics, etc. I am typing with one hand now.

The recipe for this chili and corn bread can be found at my latest post on Home Goods Blog. I would love it if you checked it out and left me a comment over there!

See You Soon,

Penny

Poor poor Penny. I'm so sorry you're all bunged up. Just looking at the brace makes me hurt. I hope it's better soon. Love me some of that comfort food and the chili looks so good. I always have to have a peanut butter sandwich with my chili! Started in grade school - every other Friday in the school cafeteria, they served chili and a little peanut butter sandwich. It stuck I guess!
Be a sweetie and get better soon,
Shelia :)

Oh no, I am sorry. You know my mom and I both have arthritis and we swear by cod liver oil tablets. They seem to help and they don't have a bad taste at all.

I have a rainbow and an award on my post today. I hope it makes you feel a little better. It is discouraging when something makes you out of commission, especially someone as active as you are. Prayers, rainbows, chicken soup and a few cod liver oil tablets are my wish for you today. Oh, and a cup of tea and reviewing all these comments are good too.

Blessings, Karen

I stopped by for Pink Saturday (love the stylin' saddle!) and browsed a bit while I was here. I've been doing the comfort foods thing myself this week, with hubby doing the cooking for me. Last night was homemade Macaroni & Cheese, two nights before that was Chicken & Dumplings (the Bisquick kind that I grew up on, not the thin noodly Texas style ones my MIL makes). Earlier in the week, I made Red Lobster style Cheese Bicuits, and put the recipe on my blog ... they're super easy, quick, and totally scrumptious!

Hope your arm heals quickly. Ive gone through bouts of bad tendonitis and very painful carpal tunnel, but no recent problems, so I never can figure out exactly what causes it when it flares up.

peace,

victoria

Oh, Miss Penny!
I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. That your arm is hurting -- and your left one, at that.
I'm left handed, too! Good thing that we're a bit ambidextrous, huh!?! We wouldn't be able to do anything, at all, if we hadn't been made to do things the "right" way all these years ;*)

That chili and cornbread looks delicious. Almost makes it worth it (not feeling well) -- almost...

Hope that you're feeling so much better!

Blessings,
Julie
