Nesting.....

I love fall and winter. I spend more time inside and I just love to nest. I did a little a little tweaking in my bedroom today.

I added a heavier checked quilt to my bed. Then I added a couple of deeper red pillows and some toile and checked pillows. I moved the bench that was in my kitchen nook to the foot of the bed. Now I need to find a chair to replace the bench in the kitchen nook. Isn't nesting fun?

If you want some great ideas on how to add warmth to your home for the season ahead visit my post at Home Goods. I would love it if you left a comment there too!

See You Soon,

Penny

Hi Penny
Red seems to to be the color of choice for bedrooms lately. I am in the process of adding some red accents to our bedroom too. Did you get that quilt from Penny's? I saw the same one on another blog. I LOVE it. I want to make a red and white quilt for my bed but it would be so much easier and cheaper just to buy that one!
When we were up in the mountains I thought of you. We were near Boone.

I really like the checked quilt. It pops against the toile. And you *know* I love your color scheme, since my living room uses the same scheme. :-)

So cozy and pretty. Where did you get that red checkered quilt? I love it!

So, I was wondering, if you survived four boys (you ARE a saint!) was that how you started your mosaic business? With all the dishes they broke? ;)

Oh--I just realized you got the quilt JCPenney has--nevermind! :)

What a wonderful bedroom!
I just got finished with mine and I'm excited to share the pictures. I love RED, but I wasn't inclined to use it this time. Perhaps in another room.

GREAT BALLS OF FIRE....Penny girl, this is awesome and JUST WHAT I WOULD LIKE FOR MY BEDROOM....
I have the quilt on order..it should be in this coming week...I have an old border in my bedroom to tear off...then to paint..I know you told me what your color is but....I've forgotten...a soft, pale but deep yellow?
I am going to start the tearing off process tomorrow...and hope to get it painted before Thanksgiving..just not sure I can do it and get all my cooking done, too...May wait until between Thanksgiving and Christmas...
You did a magnificent job on your room....oh, Penny...ain't life grand!!!
Thanks for letting me know about this post...I would have seen it but maybe not today...

I'm truly loving your transformation to the red and white toile, sweetpea! I'm going to do hubby's office in toile and thought of black, white and red. You're helping me make that decision! I love it. Are we gonna have to call you toilehillstudio now?!?!?! LOL

Hello Penny, your room is so lovely and to think you just 'tweaked' it. lol. The bench is just what the room needed. Your kitchen will just have to wait for the right chair. My daughter has the same red and white in her kitchen. I love that Waverly
fabric. Check my Oct. 23rd post. if you would like to see her breakfast room. I think you will like it. smile.

Very pretty Penny! I am so into reds right now and my bedroom is reds and muted golds. So I really enjoyed seeing what you did! I really need to do some tweaking too but it will have to wait. I am still working on my "BIG" project and trying to get a little sewing in too. UUGHH there never is enough time in a day!

Penny, I always love your decorating style! I had to laugh when I saw BJ's comment on the way to leaving my own. I knew she would love it too. Sometimes I get a sense that we are all just chatting over the back fence, even though we are miles away. All the fun things we share and the things we have in common mean that we begin to recognise each others loves and dreams and that is so much fun. Thank you for sharing all the beautiful things in your life1

Penny, your bedroom is so pretty. Your style reminds me of a Kansas City area designer named Diane Walton. Her home is one of several featured in a BHG book on small space style. I'll bet you'd like that book.

I love those red pillows.

It's fun how a few little things can change the season of a room. I replaced my cream-colored sheets with a rich chocolate brown and with my dark raspberry toile pillows, it looks very cozy and fallish.

I was thinking about adding some red to my bedroom. It is a pale green, so I must be careful to get just the right red. I do not want it to look Chritsmasy, is that a word? Your room is perfect!
