Nesting Part Two Continues....

Remember a couple of posts ago when I showed you a plate and a piece of fabric? Well here is the finished product. I had these wonderful birds nest plates and when I found the fabric with the same aqua colored background that the eggs had and the fabric had wonderful birds on it, I just new I had to make this lamp! (Click on any picture to enlarge for detail)

I love the way this shade turned out! It was so easy to make. I really like the way the birds stand out when the lamp is lit.
A close up of the bird and nest.
This is the back side..isn't it cute? There is a tiny bird and nest with the words "nesting" under the nest and bird.
A close up of the shade.....
I am making another birdhouse right now...should be finished in a few days.

P.S. I did a post on the Home Goods blog with easy instructions to create this lampshade. Check it out if you have time!

Love the lampshade...did you enjoy making it as much as I just did making mine...I was going to use the same type of trim around top and bottom but to save money on buying the trim I figured out how to use the fabric to trim it...I can't wait to try my hand at another....Sue.

Penny your sense of design is gorgeous. The way you chose just the right color blue to pick out the bird on your piece perfectly. I love the way this turned out also. What I wouldn't give to peek inside your workshop and marvel at your mosaics.

So inspiring. I am sooo drawn to mosaics and I just recently figured out why... when I was a little girl in Spain I was surrounded by it in benches, fountains and walls. I didn't put it all together until a couple of months ago!
Just love all you do!

Hi nPenny

I saw this lamp on your Home Goods post but these photos are even bigger and make it easier to see all the detail. I love how you were able to keep the detail of the bird and nest and the cute little insigna on the back! It's really charming.

But you are inspiring me, so this will definitely be put on my future projects list. So glad you stopped by. By the way, I am in love with your blog page background!
